Are we the only people who think President Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court feels like the Raptors taking Charlie Villanueva with the 7th pick? Yeah, the guy belonged in the first round, but to waste a perfectly good lottery selection?

Talk about drafting for upside. But the president could have easily traded down, stockpiled future nominations, and still got her if he wanted her that badly.
